Luke O’Shea along with his long time friend John Krsulja were named Golden Guitar winners for the 2017 CMAA Heritage Song of the Year.
This takes Lukes tally to seven Golden Guitars – four for the coveted Heritage Song of the Year.
The Old Man’s Shed is the fourth single off Luke O’Shea’s acclaimed album Caught Up In The Dreaming – which was also a 2017 Finalist for ‘Album of the Year’.
Luke said of the win – “It was such a magical moment for John and I – and for what is a very special song for the both of us. We wrote the Old Man’s Shed to celebrate our fathers and to sing up the generations of pre-Bunnings Australian gentlemen, who had that Shed / Shrine somewhere in the backyard, where they would work, fix and make things with precious tools that were slowly accrued, collected and rarely shared!” Luke continues, “We knew this song was very special due to it’s abiltiy to connect deeply with audiences of all ages, sex, colour, cult, creed, and it’s quite magical to see the tears and laughter flow – somehow all within a three and a half minute song.”
