Very happy to share the humbling news that at this years Mildura Independent Country Music Festival ‘The Drover’s Wife’ bagged us all – the COVETED Southern Stars Independent Heritage Track Award, Independent Male Vocal Award, Independent ALBUM of the YEAR Award and the mind blowing – Independent Artist of the Year Award… I didn’t know where to look or what to say but 20 years of rabbiting on in front of a classroom meant that was I think I covered all my bases…?

However I would like to thank YOU! Yes YOU reading this who has taken time out of your busy mad-arse day to see what I am up to and that support and interest is what drives me on, so sincerely THANKS!! 🙂

Lots and lots of big fat juicy music stuff coming up like:

*MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE GIGS – Hosting ‘Songwriters in the Round’ out at Rooty Hill RSL (every second Thursday) and Club Central Menai (The first three Wednesdays in November).

* Some fun shows with Ms Amber Lawrence in Canberra Casino and Lizottes Dee Why

* Don’t know if I mentioned ‘The Drovers Wife’ is up for Best Country Album at the Jagermeister AIR Independent Music Awards being held in Melbourne next week … fun! And my single How Well Have You Loved? from my Prodigal Son CD went on to win Honourable Mention in the Unsigned Only International Songwriting Competition in the Folk/Singer Songwriter section. BOOM!!

Heaps more good stuff to share but my head is full so once again …thank you! 🙂

Congratulations Luke on the Independent Artist of the Year Award, and on the Drovers Wife album. Got it a couple of months back and really like it. Heard also from Ryno that you’re coming along on next Year’s bike trip to the Victorian high country. Will be a cracker if the mountains don’t kill us first. See you at Club Menai or next time you play at the Brass Monkey. Willo.
